“Thirst”
We watched tonight’s episode of NCIS together. David was really engrossed in “Thirst.” He was commenting on the authenticity of events: Right after the gun shop employee lied to Gibbs about not having seen the victim in weeks, McGee found a video of the two together the night before behind the gun shop. When Gibbs and company confronted the gun shop employee behind his gun shop, he resisted and was in possession of Russian grenades. “Great!” David proclaimed. “The agents found the grenades incident to a lawful arrest. They were discovered lawfully without a search warrant.”
“But, why did they arrest him?” Diane asked. “Those grenades will probably be thrown out as evidence.”
David thought for a moment. “It all depends how the reports are written. The agents went to the gun shop to arrest the man for lying to Federal agents, and the grenades were discovered incidental a lawful arrest, so the evidence is lawfully seized.”
So, we were both intently following the events, and we were not expecting to be “tricked.” But, Halloween is approaching and the NCIS writers threw us all a curve. David always says that, “every good suspense needs a little romance.”
Well, tonight the writers turned the table and tricked us with a romance fueling the suspense. Diane did not trust “Mary” from the beginning. She seemed too perfect, with her pink box of pastries. And there were subtle clues. Palmer voiced concerns for Ducky’s safety. Then when dancing with Ducky, Mary refused to discuss her father. She also had no photos of him, so we knew that issue would come into play. After years of working as a lawyer, Diane’s antennae went up.
Still, poor Ducky. He admonished Palmer that life changes like the seasons. He was quite enamored with his new friend that he’d met over the internet. This can be a risky thing to do and one should proceed carefully. Ducky plunged in too quickly. He was right to delete the request from the next lady and close his computer. Cheryl Ladd played the psycho part well. What was Ducky thirsting for? Companionship? A new beginning? What do you think?
In the end, Gibbs promised Ducky that he would have his back. This is what God does for those who rely on Him. Check out Isaiah 41, verses10. Someone just happened to send those verses to us just before the show began tonight.
Stay tuned. Next week’s show teases us with one of Gibbs’ former wives appearing on the show. What more will be revealed about Leroy’s past?
Be Blessed,
Diane and David
