In the Old Testament Book of Joshua, God promised the people of Israel that they would inhabit the land he was giving to them. In 1948, when the nation of Israel was created, Jewish people dispersed around the world began returning to their homeland. Many end times Bible scholars point to the creation of the Jewish state as one of the prophesy milestones marking the return of Christ to claim His church.

In the years since 1948, Israel has defended herself from numerous attacks from her neighbors, including the 1967 war, when Israel captured more of the land that was once promised them in Joshua. In recent years, Israel has given the Gaza strip and West Bank to Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority to appease the United Nations, and the U.S. In recent months, Israeli Defense Forces have been protecting the coast along the Gaza strip from flotillas of groups trying to bring supplies and possible weapons of war into the Gaza.

As Turkey vows to send their military ships to help the flotilla to run Israel’s blockade, the Palestinian Authority awaits a vote by the United Nations to grant them Statehood on Friday, September 23, 2011.  Friday’s vote could set up an even more tense situation for the nation of Israel.  These events are of particular interest to us as our sixth novel, “The Joshua Covenant” appears in stores beginning January 4, 2012. In our newest thriller, CIA agent Bo Rider learns about Israel’s history during his assignment to the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv.  Click the title to watch a video trailer about “The Joshua Covenant.” Autographed copies will be available from our website in early November.

Be sure to keep an eye on the news on September 23rd.

Be Blessed,

Diane and David
