“At least we didn’t pay admission.” That was David’s response when he realized tonight’s episode was a prequel to be completed next week. He once bought a novel and toward the end realized the full story wouldn’t be revealed in the first book. He had to buy a second novel to learn the ending. He’s been down on prequels and sequels ever since. But tonight’s episode did have some interesting developments. Gibbs, who lost a daughter, finds himself hoping to locate the daughter once thought to be dead, in hopes of helping her father. Very touching when he told the father, “A daughter is a precious thing.” It’s apparent the writers are trying to satisfy our desire to know what makes the quirky Gibbs the way he is. We are learning more in the flashbacks about his youth (played by his son, Sean Harmon) and the young redheaded love of his life. Any actress hoping to score an appearance on the NCIS show would be smart to dye her hair red.
Diane enjoyed seeing the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We used to visit Arlington Cemetery several times a year when we lived in northern Virginia. It is a moving experience. If you have never been, you must go. The soldiers who guard the tomb take twenty-one measured steps in the span of twenty-one seconds. They are paying the ultimate in respect and honor, as with a twenty-one gun salute.
Also, what was with Tony and Ziva tonight? She slapped the back of his head when he refused to work late and then growled at her. Trouble in the family? What do you think? Also, Ziva rocks knowing so many languages. She moved the team forward tonight as did Abbey and McGee.
What did y’all think of Shannon saying to Gibbs in his dream: “How will you get what you need if you don’t let me go?”
We hate to sound like a prequel, but stay tuned for the conclusion.
Be Blessed,
Diane and David
